A veteran of 11 National Hockey League seasons that suited up in 615 contests with all but 52 being for the Detroit Red Wings, offered here from his last full NHL season is this Tampa Bay Lightning jersey worn by Gerard Gallant during the 1993-94 season. A one-year style made by CCM and featuring Maska and size “54” labels affixed to the inner collar, the logos of CCM and the NHL shield crest have been embroidered into the rear hem. Decorated over the front with a textured Lightning team crest that features partially embroidered details, matching alternate logo patches reside over each shoulder. The sleeves and verso have been accented with Gallant’s number “17” in silver-over-black-over-blue tackle twill numerals with “Gallant” spelt out across the affixed matching nameplate in matching style. Of note, the 1993-94 “set 1” jerseys for the Lightning initially had their verso numbers placed too high up on the back and they were subsequently lowered by the team to a lower position, leaving evidence of their original higher placement behind and such is the case of this jersey. Displaying a stamp over the inner rear hem denoting the jersey as a “1993 Set 1” specimen, light stick marks are present over the lower front while board burns are observed over each sleeve and along with a pair of team repairs that are seen at the inside of the left elbow and at the back left hip. Adding to its appeal, Gallant has signed the jersey over both the front crest and reverse number “1” with black marker ink signatures that display without issue.
