The winner of the Hobey Baker award in 1985 as member of the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs with a 109-point season, Bill Watson played 52 games for the Chicago Black Hawks the following year. Offered here, is this Black Hawks jersey worn by Watson during the 1985-86 playoffs. Made by CCM, a partially detached brand label is affixed to the inner collar with a born-on date tag reading “86 01” found underneath. Void of any sizing, the jersey measures out to a size 50. Made of heavy mesh, the CCM logo is embroidered into the rear hem, with “86” handwritten on the inside, while the “Gunzo’s” goalie man logo is screened on opposite it. The front is styled with the iconic Indian head crest with beautiful chain stitched details while tomahawk crests reside over each shoulder. The sleeves and verso of the jersey have been accented with Watson’s number “14” in dual layer tackle twill with “Watson” across the affixed matching nameplate in single layer white letters. Chicago wore its road playoff reds just once as they dropped the first two games of their first-round series against Toronto at home before the Leafs completed the three-game sweep at MLG with a 7-2 win on April 12th. Sporting no obvious game-use, staining is seen on the lower front and reverse. An LOA will accompany the item.
