Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
Like Ken Dryden before him, Patrick Roy was already a Stanley Cup hero when his rookie cards were discovered by youngsters in O-Pee-Chee wax packs, with this example in virtually the same condition as it was when it was pulled from a pack. Subgrades of Centering 7.5 and Corners 7 vastly contributed to the cards overall mark of NEAR MINT+ 7.5 from the graders at Beckett as the other two include Edges that ring in at 9 and Surface that earned a 9.5 designation. Attractive high grade cardboard picturing one of hockey's best clutch goalies awaits a new appreciative home, with a few light surface scratches to the Beckett holder to note as well as the label that has become unhinged on the inside of the holder.
