One of Motor City’s most beloved and venerated athletes, Steve Yzerman captained Detroit for 19 seasons, leading the Red Wings to an unprecedented 18 playoff campaigns during his tenure, culminating in Stanley Cup victories in 1997, 1998 and 2002. Presented here, is this stick used by Yzerman during the mid-1990s. A Victoriaville APT 9050 model, used by Yzerman during the 1995-96 and early on in the 1996-97 seasons, in solid white with red and black accents, “Yzerman 5.5-115” is stamped over the upper shaft. Retaining its original white tape over the blade and red-over-white cloth wrap on the handle, “937-14” is handwritten in pencil on the underside of the lower shaft with an additional handwritten red “3” in front of it. Exhibiting good game-use, numerous marks are seen to the taped section of the blade, wear is present along the tapes top and bottom edge with marks also seen over the heel and lower shaft. Additional marks/abrasions are also observed throughout the length of the shaft.
Addendum; the photo of the stick showing on the first photo montage has some graphics along the shaft which were messed-up in the graphic design process, we added a photo to the listing (the 2nd photo) which shows the stick correctly.
