A veteran of 833 National Hockey League games, German born forward Jochen Hecht’s NHL journey started when he was selected 49th overall by the St. Louis Blues at the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. Having represented his home country on numerous occasions including three Olympic Games, offered here is this Buffalo Sabres jersey worn by Hecht during the 2009-10 season. Made by Reebok and sporting a single size “56” tag affixed to the inner collar, crests for both the NHL and Reebok are found over the front and back necklines respectively. Styled over the front with a Sabres team crest that features partially embroidered details along with the alternate captain’s “A” over the left breast, the chest, sleeves and verso have been accented with Hecht’s number “55” in dual layer yellow-over-white tackle twill numerals. “Hecht” is spelt out across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the back in single layer yellow twill letters. Displaying light game-use a small number or board burns and a stick mark are seen over the left sleeve’s elbow area. Additional wear is seen through a small amount of pills/fabric snags seen through the piece as well as light pilling on the interior and loose threads at the collar. A team tag denoting the jersey as a “2000-2010 Official Game Jersey” is sewn inside the rear hem and Hecht has signed the fight strap with a black ink signature that appears without issue.
