The sixth World Series matchup between the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Yankees since 1941 with the Bronx Bombers victorious in the first five meetings, “Dem Bums” finally got over the hump in 1955, beating the Yankees in seven games to give Brooklyn their first championship. Celebrating that 1955 Fall Classic, is this framed display containing baseballs individually signed by game one starting pitchers, Don Newcombe and Whitey Ford, at the bottom of the piece. Both signatures have been signed in blue ballpoint pen with the autographs displaying without flaw while the balls show light toning. A silver plate stating that the Dodgers defeated the Yankees to win the World Series sits between the signed spheres while a replica poster for game one of the Series sits above. The poster measures approx. 13 ¼” x 21 ¼” and shows that years Dodgers team photo. Everything is housed in an intricate black frame that measures out to 22 ¼” x 35 ¼” and is double matted under black and brown. The frame shows light wear to the edges and corners with a scuff seen on the front plexiglass as well. The piece is accompanied by a JSA LOA.
