This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
Finishing second in the NHL standings with only 23 losses throughout the 70-game regular season, the 1956-57 Montreal Canadiens would win their second consecutive Stanley Cup on their way to five in a row between 1956 and 1960. This panoramic photo feature’s the famous squad, and it’s an image we have never encountered. At approx 7 ½” x 19 ½”, the glossy black and white print pictures Les Canadiens posed on the ice of the famous Montreal Forum including HOFers Plante, Beliveau, Harvey, Moore, Geoffrion, Johnson, Olmstead and the Richard brothers. A stamp from Famous Studio has been added near the center with the backside of the piece having a handwritten Famous Studio notation along with the season. The photo exhibits light to moderate wear with only light wear worth noting to the surface with wear to the edges and corners also worth noting along with a pair of creases at the far-left side. Of note, the washout effect in the bottom right corner is not wear to the image but the way the photo was taken.
