Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022

One of Motor City’s all-time greatest, Steve Yzerman spent his entire career with the Detroit Red Wings, registering over 1,700 points including almost 700 goals and helping lead the Red Wings to three Stanley Cup Championships. Hailing from the 1993-94 season, we have this stick used by Stevie-Y. A Louisville TPS model with “Yzerman” stamped to the upper shaft, “19” has been handwritten above in black ink. Yzerman’s original black tape job resides over the blade while red-cloth-over-white decorates the shaved handle/knob. With no striping accents over the lower shaft, Yzerman has signed the area with a crisp black ink signature that displays well with just a minuscule bit of fading. The stick sports light-to-moderate game-use with marks to the blade tape and a loose strand near the toe. A small crack is found in the toe of the stick that doesn’t affect the structural integrity of the stick. The shaft of the stick also shows numerous marks/abrasions throughout with a strip of residues of dried tape on the upper shaft.
