An NHL All-Star throughout his HOF career, selected to nine best-on-best showcases, Denis Savard enjoyed 17 seasons in the world’s best league and is currently ranked #32 for all-time points. The superstar also won a Stanley Cup championship with the Montreal Canadiens in 1993. This signed stick was used by Savard circa the late-1980s with Chicago before his trade to Montreal for Chris Chelios in the summer of 1990. A Canadien 6001 model, “Savard” is stamped to the upper shaft with “18” handwritten underneath. A handwritten “3” is also present on the top of the stick. Savard’s original red tape job is present over the handle/knob with a few loose strands while black tape covers most of the blade, with missing material leaving the toe exposed. Sporting moderate-to-heavy game-use, the stick shows a small crack to the backside of the toe with marks seen on the blade tape. Numerous marks/abrasions are found throughout the stick with red paint transfer seen on the backside of the shaft at the top and bottom. Additionally, Savard has signed the shaft of the stick near the heel with a perfect blue ink signature with an added “HOF 2000” inscription.
