The second to last game of the famed 1972 Summit Series, the Canadian squad would once again pull of the victory by a score of 4-3 with Paul Henderson scoring the winner late in the third for the second game in a row (oh the foreshadowing!) Presented here from the series tying game 7 is this ticket stub from the contest held at the Luzhniki Palace of Sports in Moscow. A tie game after two period’s the two teams traded goals in the third before Henderson’s winner with 2:06 to play. Measuring roughly 2 3/8” x 4 ½” at its longest parts, the thin paper ticket lists the game, date, venue and seat in Cyrillic, with a line drawing of the Luzhniki seating bowl on the reverse. With a rough torn edge at the left side, the stub shows crisp colours with a small tear to the bottom edge and a pin hole near the date of the game being exhibited. A pair of creases are also found with one going diagonally through the “26” on the left side and a small one in the bottom left corner.
