Two of the greatest to ever play in the National Hockey League and the topic of a long running debate on who is the better player, Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux paired up to score with 1:26 remaining to secure Canada the 1987 Canada Cup over the Soviet Union. Presented here in this lot is a pair of signed framed photo displays of the two legends. Each measuring 12” x 15”, each display shows an action image of the respective player measuring 8” x 10” that has been signed, with Gretzky penning a black ink signature to his image and Lemieux a blue one with both autographs displaying flawlessly. Accented with a hockey card of the featured player on each as well as an information plaque (with the Gretzky piece numbered “44/100”), everything is affixed a wood backing. Made to appear like black marble, slight edge wear is seen on each. JSA stickers have been affixed to the corners of each image and are accompanied by matching COA’s.
