Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
A trio of good-looking high-grade offering are presented here hailing from O-Pee-Chee’s 1973-74 release featuring the images of some of the most influential Canadian born hockey players to ever wear the maple leaf on their chest. Leading off, a copy of Guy Lafleur’s card, #72 in the set, is present, with a photo of a young Lafleur surrounded by a red border. Graded MINT 9 by PSA, 18 other example of the card have received the same designation, with none graded higher. A bit off center left-to right is the only thing worth noting on this tantalizing offering. Card #30 is next, featuring Bobby Orr on the front and listing his all-star status from the previous season. Once again having been slabbed by PSA, this one has earned a NM-MT 8 grade with light wear touches to the corners and surface spots near the right edge of the front being seen. Lastly, is card #7, showing Summit Series hero, Paul Henderson, in his Maple Leafs uniform. The back of the card, which has been graded NM 7 by PSA, talks about that Canadian hero status. Touches of wear are seen to all four corners on the front with the edges remaining smooth and the surfaces clean. All the PSA holders remain in good condition and were well cared for, showing only light scratches.
