Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
A 10-time Stanley Cup champion and one of the best to ever pull on the red, white and blue of the Montreal Canadiens, Yvon Cournoyer spent his entire NHL career with the Habs, and scored the critical tying goal in Game 8 of the 1972 Summit Series against the Soviet Union. A young Cournoyer is pictured here on his rookie card, number 76 in Topps’ 1965-66 set, with bright colours, smooth edges, clean surfaces and sharp corners making this a desirable high-grade example that has been deemed worthy of a NM-MT 8 by BVG. Subgrades of Centering 8.5, Corners 8.5, Edges 8 and Surface 8 are displayed on the reverse side of the label. Slabbed in a Beckett holder that remains in excellent condition with just light scratches on both sides, the card is sure to be a welcome addition to any advanced collection.
