Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/3/2023
Beginning in 1884, the Canadian Dominion Football Championship served as most prestigious title in Canadian Rugby Football until the first awarding of the Grey Cup, in 1909. The Hamilton Tigers won the CDFC twice prior to 1909, and again in 1915. We have a pair of framed panoramic Hamilton Tigers team photos, including the 1915 CDFC champions, and an undated circa 1920s team photo. First, with an image area of 6" x 18", the 1915 photo shows the players lined up, with "Hamilton Tigers Intermediate Dominion Champions 1915" written along the base of the mount, with the photo framed to 10 1/2" x 21 1/2". The 1920s photo has an image area of approx 7" x 23", with the team lined up on the field in their black and gold striped sweaters. Set in a frame to 9" x 26", the 1915 photo shows silvering, while the 1920s photo sports a few large creases, with wear to the frames.
