Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
A trio of key members of the Toronto Maple Leafs during their run of success in the early-1960s, Tim Horton, Dick Duff and Billy Harris are pictured here on their cards in Parkhurst’s 1955-56 set with the examples of Duff and Harris being rookie cards. All three cards have been examined by PSA with Horton scoring the highest grade, a NM 7, while Duff has garnered an EX 5 and Harris an EX-MT 6. The Horton example remains nice and white in the background with some fading present to the bottom red stripe, common with this set. Wear is found to all four corners but is heaviest on the top left and bottom two points. The cards of Duff and Harris, despite different grades show similar flaws to the naked eye including wear to the corners and moderate to heavy toning to the white backgrounds on the front. Void of the common fading to the red at the bottom, the edges do show some wear/chipping. Of note, the Duff card is miss cut on the reverse. The PSA holders all remain in good condition, showing just light scratches/scuffs over both sides that is the heaviest on the Duff slab.
