The second Canadian city to play host to a Major League Baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays battled the snow and 35-degree temperatures on Opening Day April 7th, 1977. Doug Ault would be the hero, clubbing two home runs, as the Jays would beat the Chicago White Sox 9-5. Presented here is a collection of six (6) tickets from that historic Opening Day with all colour variations represented with all having been graded by iCert. All the tickets display “Opening Game” in 70’s style font above a Blue Jays logo that is flanked with “1977” on each side with the Jays word mark logo and stadium information underneath. Pricing and seat information is found at the right side of each ticket. Three (3) of the included tickets have been deemed worthy of NM-MT+ 8.5 grades including the blue “Upper Level Chair”, red “Field Level Chair“ and gold “VIP” variations with all three displaying just light corner touches and handling wear. The pink “1st Base Res. Bench” has earned a NM 7 with toning present while the light blue “Rt. Field Res. Bench” carries a EX-MT 6 designation, showing corner wear and edge toning. The lowest graded example is the green “General Admission” ticket that’s been given an “A” for authentic while showing creasing, toning and liquid staining with a tape mark present on the reverse.
