Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
Those of you enthusiastic about high grade encapsulated vintage hockey cards and 1963-64 Parkies in particular should be particularly pleased with the opportunity offered here, with the luscious details as follows. Considered one of the most beautiful cards from the puck world, Gordie Howe’s card #55 merited NM-MT 8 recognition upon inspection and leads a group of 19 slabbed NM-MT 8, with other notables being 9-Shack, 39-Worsley, 65-Bower, 89-Beliveau and the challenging last numbered card, 99-Maniago RC. Meanwhile, eight condition leaders attained MINT 9 status and although none are atop their respective lines of the PSA Population Report, fewer than a dozen of each, in almost all cases, have ever scored higher in the history of the grading firm. The MINT 9 contingent consists of 5-Bower, 18-Baun (4 higher), 40-Maniago RC (6 higher), 52-Ullman, 57-Smith, 67-Douglas, 72-Pulford and 75-Keon (4 higher). One lone NM-MT+ representative (22-Talbot), a trio at NM 7 (53-Sawchuk, 73-Armstrong, 98-Worsley) and another threesome slabbed EX-MT 6 (27-Laperriere RC, 61-Stanley, 70-Nevin) complete the years-in-the-making booty, sure to excite when it’s delivered. Please note that the not-already-mentioned NM-MT 8s are shown in our third and fourth group shots, while the PSA holders overall have been well cared for, with only the odd intermittent light scratch/scuff observed.
