Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
It’s hard to believe in retrospect that Wayne Gretzky spent almost as much of his career in Los Angeles as he did in Edmonton, with Wayne’s first season in California his most productive, with 168 points registered in 78 games. We have a Kings captain's jersey that has been signed by the iconic legend. Center Ice labeling along with a size “54” fly tag sits along the collar, with the jersey fashioned with a partially textured team crest and tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Gretzky” across the nameplate in matching material. The Stanley Cup Centennial patch resides over the right breast. Complete with some of Wayne’s custom features such as the double CCM and NHL logos embroidered over the reverse hem and Velcro swatch on the interior, The Great One has signed within the first back number “9” with a black ink signature that displays well with only light fading and bleeding. In excellent condition overall, a COA will accompany the piece.
