The current GM of the Boston Bruins, holding the position since 2015, Don Sweeny was drafted by the B’s in 1984 and spent all but 63 of his 1115 NHL games in Boston’s black and gold. Offered here, is this Boston Bruins alternate captain’s jersey worn by Sweeney during 1999-00 pre-season play. Made by Pro Player, labeling from the brand along with “52” sizing is affixed to the inner collar with the size tag having Sweeny’s number “32” handwritten in black marker, while NHL and Pro Player logos are embroidered into the reverse hem. Featuring the classic spoked-B team crest fully administered in tackle twill, the distinguished alternate captain’s “A” sits affixed to the left breast with the right-side void of the “NHL2000” patch that appeared starting with regular season play. The sleeves and verso of the jersey have had Sweeny’s number “32” sewn to them, “Sweeny” is spelt out across the affixed matching nameplate while alternate logo patches are found over each shoulder. Worn only in the pre-season, the jersey shows light game-use with stick marks found on the left sleeve and right shoulder and a pair of board burns being observed at the left elbow. Void of any team stamping on the interior, light pilling is seen at the elbows. The jersey is accompanied by a Bruins COA.
