Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
The Boys of Summer from yesteryear are the subject of this lot here that brings to light a collection of seven (7) Topps and O-Pee-Chee baseball cards that date between 1965 and 1970. All found in raw ungraded form, the group is led by a pair of first-year cardboard specimens in the form of a 1965 Topps Joe Morgan/Sonny Jackson RC that is seen as being in the condition range of G to VG with due to a crease and rounded/dinged corners, as well as a 1966 Topps RC of Orioles stud pitcher, Jim Palmer, that rates much better, coming in around the vicinity of EX to EX-MT. Of note, the Morgan/Jackson card also shows a wax stain over the front while the Palmer RC is a bit off-center both left-to-right and top-to-bottom. For the rest of the cards, all hailing from O-Pee-Chee’s 1970 release, the likes of 10-Yastrzemski (VG to VG-EX – corner wear), 140-Jackson (VG to VG-EX - 2nd year card – light corner wear and slight crease at top left edge), 150-Killebrew (VG-EX to EX), 189-Munson (VG to VG-EX – RC – corner wear) and 220-Steve Carlton (VG-EX to EX) are including and are some of the biggest names to grace that set’s checklist. A fantastic grouping of some diamond gems, don’t miss out on these for your all-important vintage collection!
