This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
The all-important Bobby Hull rookie card included here, picturing the teenager and describing him as a "blond husky of brilliant promise", received a VG-EX 4 (OC) grade from the folks at PSA and is encapsulated in an older PSA holder which exhibits some scuffing and fine scratches. The other included graded example is the #8 card of HOFer Gordie Howe, which received a grade of EX 5 from the Canadian firm KSA and has minor scuffing on its holder. Raw examples includes those of 2-Sawchuk (long crease), 13-Hall (some paper loss on back), 39-Worsley (ink annotation on back), 40-Bucyk (soft corners), 52-Delvecchio, 61-Kelly (small crease), 63-Lindsay (small crease/wax stain on back) and 65-Ullman are in the G to VG vicinity and most exhibiting some wear to their surfaces. The rookie card of Eddie Shack has multiple creases, wear to the corners and good surface wear and in the F to GD range. Not including the aforementioned cards, 28 have creases and 23 have an handwritten letter an ink pen of various colors written on their backs. The majority of the cards have wear to the corners and/or soft corners with most cards exhibiting surface wear of various degrees on their fronts and backs. Colorful collectibles, led by the legend who would earn the nickname of "The Golden Jet".
It must be noted that the grading standards followed by KSA may not correspond to those currently employed by PSA, BGS or SGC. The outcome of an attempted cross-over of this piece through any of those services, then, would be uncertain and cannot be guaranteed.
