With a combined total of 60 National Hockey League seasons between the four of them, Pat Verbeek, Joffrey Lupul, Jeff Carter and Ryan Johansen have certainly left their mark on the league. Presented here is this collection of four (4) game-used sticks of Verbeek, Lupul, Carter and Johansen. First, is a stick used by Verbeek circa-2000 as a member of the Detroit Red Wings. A Louisville TPS Response model, a sticker displaying “Verbeek R-0544” is affixed to the upper shaft while Verbeek’s original tape job of white cloth-over-black found on the handle/knob while the blade tape has been removed with remnants still present on the bottom. The stick shows moderate game-use with marks and abrasions found on the blade and shaft while a crack is also seen on the top edge of the blade. Next, is a stick used by Joffrey Lupul in the early-2010s with the Toronto Maple Leafs. An Easton EQ50 model, Lupul’s tape job of white over the handle/knob and black on the blade is still present. The stick shows light wear in the form of marks and abrasions to both the blade and shaft. Thirdly, is stick that was used by 2-time Stanley Cup Champion, Jeff Carter, in the late-2000s. A Nike Bauer Supreme One95 model, “Carter” factory graphics appear over the shaft with Carter’s original black tape job on both the blade and over the handle/knob with a handwritten “07” also seen on the single white row at the bottom. Game-use is heavy with marks and abrasions to the blade and to the shaft where a gripping agent that is now dried has been applied. Additionally, Carter has signed the heel of the stick with a silver ink signature that displays well with lightness in some areas. Lastly, is a stick that was used by Ryan Johansen as a member of the Columbus Blue Jackets during the mid-2010s. A Bauer Nexus 8000 model with “R. Johansen” factory graphics over the upper shaft, Johansen’s original white tape job is still present on the blade and handle/knob. The stick shows light game-use with marks to the taped section of the blade and marks/abrasions to the lower shaft seen as well. Additionally, Johansen has signed the lower shaft with a silver ink signature that displays without issue.
