Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022

One of Motor City’s all-time greatest, Steve Yzerman spent his entire career with the Detroit Red Wings, registering over 1,700 points including almost 700 goals and helping the Red Wings to three Stanley Cup Championships. An Easton T-Flex model with “Yzerman Custom 95” graphics over the upper shaft, the original black tape is found over the blade and red-over-white cloth wrap on the handle with Yzerman’s handwritten “19” also seen on the tape in black marker. Exhibiting light game-use with marks to the blade tape and heel areas, the area where the blade and shaft meet is caked with excess dried adhesive. The stick remains free from all cracks and breaks. Attributed to the 2000 NHL All-Star Game in Toronto, Getty Image #52092282 (February 6, 2000) appears to show Yzerman using the stick with similarities between the handwritten "19" on the handle tape as well the amount of glue visible over the Easton logo where the blade and shaft meet. Additionally, included with the lot is a pro on-ice style 2002 Team Canada Olympic jersey that has been signed by Yzerman. Made by Nike and tagged a size “52”, the jersey features fully stitched and embroidered elements and has been customized as an Yzerman who has signed the back number “1” with a gorgeous black ink signature that displays without issue. The jersey remains in excellent condition with just light pilling to the right collarbone area.
Addendum; the photo of the stick showing on the first photo montage has some graphics on the top of the shaft which were messed-up in the graphic design process, we added a photo to the listing (the 2nd photo) which shows the stick correctly.
