Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022

Finishing tied for second on the team in 2006-07 with a total of 87 points, Jason Spezza and the Ottawa Senators would enjoy a trip to the 2007 Stanley Cup Finals against the Anaheim Ducks with Spezza contributing another 22 points in 20 games played during the playoffs. From the season of that playoff run is this signed stick used by Spezza that has been attributed to the Eastern Conference Finals against the Buffalo Sabres. A Sher-Wood SOP 9950 model in white with red and black accents, “Spezza” is stamped on the shaft while his original white tape job is found over the blade and covering the shaved handle/knob with a handwritten “6” on the top side and “Buf P5” found on the underside. Both written in black marker, it is believed that “Buf P5” is to mean game 5 of the 2007 Eastern Conference Final vs Buffalo. The stick exhibits heavy game-use with blackening of all four edges all the way up the shaft and wear to the taped section of the blade. Additionally, Spezza has signed the heel section with a crisp and flowing black ink signature that displays perfectly and has been personalized with a message on the taped section.
