Starring for the Big Red of Cornell before earning the Calder Memorial as the NHL’s top rookie in 1988, Joe Nieuwendyk skated in the world’s best league for 20 seasons which included winning a trio of Stanley Cup championships with different clubs. From the early-2000s, we have a stick used by Nieuwendyk, with this specific type of model seeing use in in 2000-01 and 2001-02. A Sher-Wood PMPX 9950 model, “Nieuwendyk 25” is stamped on the shaft with Joe’s original black tape job is found over the black with white covered by white cloth over the handle and knob with the cloth layer coming loose near the top of the knob. Exhibiting light game-use, light marks are noticeable on the taped section of the blade as well as on the heel and lower shaft.
