Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
Hailing originally from the Hockey Diversified Inc NHL Goal Puck Program that ran for two seasons during the early-1970s (1972-74), we have a puck used by Syl Apps Jr to score the Pittsburgh Penguins 89th goal of the season vs the Toronto Maple Leafs, at the Civic Arena, on November 29, 1972. Assisted by Bryan Watson and Lowell MacDonald, it was Apps’ 10th goal of the season, and 35th of his 183 career goals. The second Pens goal of the contest to put Pittsburgh up by two, the team would trade goals, with Apps adding four assists for a five-point night! The Penguins would go on to beat the Leafs, 7-4. The rubberized Penguins logo shows wear, while the Goal Puck Program label exhibits toning, with light overall wear to the puck.
