The first time in history a defenseman topped the 100-point total, Bobby Orr had a breakout season in 1969-70, setting an NHL record with 87 points. The Boston Bruins would finish the season behind Chicago, and advance to the Stanley Cup finals, with the series remembered for Orr’s epic Cup-clinching overtime marker forever recognized as “The Goal”. From the historic 1969-70 season, we have a stick used by Fred Stanfield team-signed by the 1970 Stanley Cup-champion Bruins. A Northland Custom Pro, Glass-Fused model, “Stanfield” is stamped to the upper shaft, along with his preferred lie. Sporting the original black tape to the blade and white bee hive pattern to the knob, the striping accent is intact, with a stamp from team supplier Woody Dumart added to one side of the shaft. Showing light game-use with wear to the taped blade and a couple small chips near the heel (tape has also been added to the upper shaft), the frontside shaft has been shaved-down, with approx 22 faded signatures including HOFers Orr, Bucyk, Cheevers and Espo, along with Lorentz (final Bruins season), Hodge, Cashman, D Smith, Johnston, Marcotte, Bailey, McKenzie, Carleton (first season) and a few others.
