Getting his start as a professional in the KHL, Nail Yakupov was selected first overall by the Edmonton Oilers at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, and made his debut on Jan 20, 2013, scoring his first NHL goal in the following game, on Jan 22nd. First, the helmet is a Warrior Krown model worn by Nail during his rookie season of 2012-13. In royal blue with intact strapping and harness, Oilers decals are seen on each side with “64” decals affixed to the front crown and lower reverse along with an NHL decal. Of note, the NHL sticker was reapplied by equipment staff later in the season. Good game use is shown with numerous scratches, marks and surface abrasions. An Oilers hologram is found near the left ear with a team inventory sticker found on the interior. Yakupov has signed the top of the helmet with a big and bold silver ink signature that displays with minor wear. The helmet has been photo-matched to Getty Image #159999408 (January 24th, 2013 vs Los Angeles) the game that Nail did his famous slide celebration after tying the game with 4 seconds left to the decal placement on the crown and the screw rotations for the visor on the forehead. The gloves are Warrior Franchise Pro models in the Oilers blue, orange and white colours with Warrior wordmarks screened onto each cuff and “Yaksss 64” embroidered above with a Warrior logo patch sewn into each thumb. Exhibiting good game-use, the palms show rubbing to each with heavy use seen to the right one which also has a hole through the first layer. The outsides each show marks, light fraying and abrasions. The interiors of both gloves have a handwritten “1” and “2” in black marker with a team inventory tag and Oilers hologram found inside the left glove. Additionally, Yakupov has signed each thumb with a silver ink signature that displays without issue. Both items are accompanied by LOA’s from the Oilers.
