Enjoying a rich baseball history that dates back to 1890, the City of Montreal has laid claim to the Montreal Royals, a minor league squad from 1890 to 1960, and the Montreal Expos, the city’s big league National League club from 1969 to 2004. Additionally, the city can boast to having some of the greatest and most influential players of all-time play for their teams including Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella, Roberto Clemente, Gary Carter, Vladimir Guerrero, Tim Raines, Pedro Martinez and many others. Up for grabs here, and sure to pique the interest of any Montreal baseball enthusiast, is this collection of Montreal Royals and Expos memorabilia that includes, books, programs, scorecards, tickets, paraphernalia and more. Fronted by a trio of Montreal Royals programs that date to the 1951 (x2) and 1952 seasons, all three appear to be complete and unscored with the lineup cards still present on the interiors. Showing moderate-to-heavy wear, creases, surface wear, toning to the interior pages and small tears to the edges are observed as well as spine wear. For the Expos based items, those of note include a new in box Warren Cromartie stadium giveaway bobblehead from 2004, a media guide from 2003, various calendars, magazines and paperwork from the 1980s and 1990s, numerous unused tickets from 1993 and 1994 and a couple of books on the Expos. Additionally, older items dating from the 1970s include a trio of scorecards from 1973, a 1974 team photo, Expos 5th anniversary booklets, two issues of Expos Baseball Magazine, a detailed season ticket information package with updated pertaining to the move to Olympic Stadium from Jarry Parc and the team’s negotiations to use the facility and a 1976 promotional brochure. Lastly, also included is a group of nine (9) 1976 Summer Olympic tickets from when the Games were hosted by Montreal that includes one from the Closing Ceremonies. In varying degrees of conditions throughout, most of the items show moderate to heavy handling wear while the older items from the 1970s remain in better condition upon inspection.
