Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/14/2022
Led by Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito, the Boston Bruins took down the New York Rangers in six games to clinch their second Stanley Cup in three years on the enemy ice of Madison Square Garden with Orr crowned playoffs MVP. Hailing from the cup clinching game 6 is this stub freshly graded by PSA. Deemed worthy of a FR 1.5 and one of only three such tickets graded by PSA (the other two are PSA Authentic and PSA 4). Bobby Orr scored the eventual Cup-winning goal during the first period with two more added by Wayne Cashman in the 3rd as the B’s skated to a 3-0 win. The stub retains its deep blue colour while displaying “1972 Stanley Cup Play-Off” along with seat information and the original price of $5.00. Ripped at the direct middle, the stub shows wear on the corner and edges with a crease running the length of the ticket down the middle.
