Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
From an era that was dominated by the Bleu, Blanc et Rouge of the National Hockey League comes this lot of two game pucks which were used on home ice at the Montreal Forum from 1964-68. The first puck, dating from 1964-67 features a rubberized crest with “Official Art Ross National Hockey League Puck” over the obverse while detailing the manufacturer as “Converse Rubber Co.” instead of the earlier version Tyer Rubber Company. The reverse features a Canadiens rubberized logo that shows only minor wear with the puck itself presenting well with only minor surface scratches and nicks on the reverse and a cut near the upper edge of the obverse. The second puck is from 1967-68 and looks much the same except for the Converse logo appearing on the Art Ross crest. The rubberized Habs logo on the reverse features light crazing on an otherwise flawless side while the obverse shows minor surface wear and a small hole with a light toning stripe to the crest.
