Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
A member of the famous Montreal Canadiens’ “Big Three” defensive core along with fellow HOFers Larry Robinson and Guy Lapointe, Serge Savard spent the majority of his career with the Habs, winning eight Stanley Cup championships along with the Bill Masterton Trophy, in 1979. From the Stanley Cup championship season of 1975-76, we have a stick used by the Landrienne native. A Canadien Custom Pro fiberglass model with “Serge Savard” and “18” factory graphics, the original black tape remains over the blade and white ribbed pattern to the handle. There is also a date stamp of “15 Avr 1976” stamped to the lower shaft, and as such, the stick would have been used during the playoffs (the last regular-season game for the Habs in 1975-76 was April 4th vs Washington). Sporting very light game-use, there are a few marks to the shaft along with some wear over the taped handle section.
