Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
Just the second Chicago White Sox player to be honoured by having his number retired, Nellie Fox was one of the most difficult hitters to strike out in MLB history, with the Pennsylvania native winning an AL MVP along with a trio of Gold Glove Awards. Passing away from cancer at age 47 in 1975, Fox was elected to the HOF in 1997. We offer a signature cut of the twelve-time All-Star. At 2 1/4" x 4 1/4" and on peach-coloured paper, Nelson has added a large blue ballpoint signature that remains bold with no issues. There is an edge tear with a bit of paper loss on the right side, with this not affecting the signature whatsoever. A JSA LOA will accompany.
