Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
Taking place on January 18, 1977 at the Hartford Civic Center, the fifth edition of the midseason classic for the WHA saw the East All-Stars, led by Real Cloutier and J.C. Tremblay, skate away with a 4-2 win over Gordie Howe, Bobby Hull and the rest of the Western combatants. Hailing from the 1976-77 All-Star Contest, we offer this jersey issued for the game to the “West All-Stars”. A light weight blue mesh offering with Gerry Cosby tagging affixed to the inner collar, the jersey measures out to a size “44”. Number “23” is found on the back and both sleeves is sewn-on red-on-white double twill while the WHA crest, stripes, stars, and “WHA” on the front and rear tails are all heat-screened vinyl. Issued, but never worn in the game, a name has never been sewn to the upper back and no game-wear is exhibited. Remaining in good condition, a few light stains and black marks not from game-use are seen over the front and sleeves.
