Spending over half of his career NHL games played in the uniform of the Minnesota North Stars between 1980 and 1988, we offer this North Stars jersey originally worn by Tony McKegney in 1986-87, recycled for Gordie Robert’s use in the 1987-88 pre-season. A Steichens label sits affixed to the collar sewn over top of a Maska laundering tag displaying a faint handwritten size “54” designation in black pen. Both the CCM and Steichens logo are embroidered into the rear hem while the front is styled with and attractive and layered drop-shadow Stars team crest fully administered in tackle twill. he mesh V-neck has been accented with matching drop-shadow sleeve and verso number “22” numerals, with alternate crests over each shoulder along with “Roberts” over the affixed matching mesh nameplate in single layer white twill letters. Sporting light-to-moderate game-use, stick marks are seen over the lower front and the sleeve numbers with a board burn at the bottom front hem also present. An unrepaired tear is seen underneath the “5” on the right sleeve while the reverse of the jersey exhibts a team repair at the right hip and mended repairs from McKegney’s nameplate being removed. A pair of stains are also seen over the front crest. The jersey is attributed to have been worn by Tony McKegney in 1986-87 prior to his Nov. 13th 1986 trade to the NY Rangers (pre-JM patch) and recycled for Gordie Roberts for the 1987-88 pre-season (they wore the JM patch at the start of the regular season as well so would have been recycled for pre-season). This is the only season Roberts wore #25 and he is listed as wearing it in the North Stars media guide from the 1987-88 season.
