Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
Some of the rarest posters in the entire discipline of movie poster collecting, and originally used as billboard art, issued in 12 different sections, Twenty-Four Sheet posters (108” x 246”) were almost always destroyed after use, and due to this as well their extremely large size, surviving specimens rarely surface. We offer a scarce Twenty-Four Sheet poster for the popular 1977 James Bond installment ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’, which starred Roger Moore as James Bond. In twelve different sections, expected fold lines are present to each along with toning and edge wear, with some spotting to the reverse of a few sections along with tears to one section. Pinholes are also visible, with a faint “The Spy Who Loved Me 24 SH. Foreign” stamp to the reverse of one section. This is the only large Twenty-Four Sheet billboard poster that we have ever sold.
