A member of the Quebec Nordiques and Stanley Cup Champion with the Colorado Avalanche in 1996, Stephane Fiset found his next NHL home with the Los Angeles Kings in sunny California. Presented here is the jersey that Fiset worn during the third period on the night that the Kings moved into their new digs at the Staples Center on October 20th, 1999 against the Boston Bruins. The purple ensemble, made by KOHO, features “goalie style” and size “58” designations based on the tags found on the inner collar with the logos of KOHO and the NHL found on the reverse neckline and rear hem respectively. The front of the jersey features the heavily embroidered Kings crown crest that sparkles in every sense of the imagination as well as the NHL 2000 patch residing over the right breast and “Los Angeles” wordmark down near the hem. The sleeves and verso of the jersey feature Fiset’s number “35” in dual layer stacked tackle twill in black and silver with “Fiset” in the same metallic twill stitched directly on to the back of the jersey to add even more sparkle than already present. The shoulders are decorated with the Kings secondary logo patch. There is no real evidence of game wear as the jersey was only worn for the one period of play. The interior of the jersey features the team patch sewn in listing the jersey as for the opening night of Staples Center and part of set C (third period). The jersey comes with a team issued letter of authenticity from the Kings, signed by Dave Taylor, which also has an early MeiGray hologram sticker affixed to it.
