Finishing second to Mario Lemieux for the Calder Memorial Trophy in 1985, Chris Chelios enjoyed one of the lengthiest careers in history, with three Stanley Cup championships won throughout his full 25 NHL seasons. The Illinois native would also earn three James Norris trophies along with selection to eleven NHL All-Star Games. From his final season with Montreal, we have a Canadiens alternate captain's jersey worn by the superstar in 1989-90. A Maska label is affixed to the collar, with the jersey measuring out to a size 54. An embroidered CCM crest resides over the reverse hem, with the dual-clasp fight strap intact. Styled with the famous and sacred CH team crest, the white V-neck has been accented with "24" in tri-colour tackle twill sewn to the sleeves and verso, with “Chelios” across the affixed nameplate in single blue twill. Showing nice game-use with wear to the material including marks to the sleeves, there is also a small stain to the upper reverse. Team repairs are also visible, with four examples near the left elbow and two to the upper right sleeve. We should further note that this jersey would have been worn by Chelios early-on in the 1989-90 season, with an outside possibility that it was worn in 1988-89 when alternate captain Larry Robinson replaced injured captain Bob Gainey, who was out almost all of January and February of 1989.
