Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
A lot for the special event jersey collectors out there, we have these two (2) jerseys from military appreciation nights for the Buffalo Sabres. First, is the 2016 example worn by goaltender Anders Nilsson which comes with a team COA. Made by Reebok and tagged as a size 58G, this camouflage example of deep green, brown, and grey Digi camo features a black and white Sabres crest on the front with a thick nylon “Nilsson” patch on the upper right chest. A Reebok jock tag is found near the lower front hem. The sleeves and verso of the jersey feature similarly styled numbers in dual colour, two layer stacked tackle twill with an American flag patch being found on the left sleeve as well. Nilsson’s name has been spelled out in single layer white twill letters across a matching camo nameplate. Wear is extremely light and hard to see with the only found example being a puck mark on the “1” of the right sleeve.
Next to round out the lot, is a similar style jersey worn by Marc-Andre Gragnani in 2011. Again, being made by Reebok, this time a size 56 and in a dessert camouflage design, the front features the Sabres crest in its normal style with a brown “17” and Reebok patches being stitched on the upper chest of either side respectively. The sleeves and verso once again feature Gragnani’s “17” in matching style as the front, brown and white two layer stacked tackle twill. “Gragnani” is spelled out on an affixed white airknit nameplate. Wear is light on the jersey with no real examples exhibited. The jersey comes with a COA from Collectors Proof.
