Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
The Calder Memorial winner in 2017 for his impressive rookie campaign of 69 points in 82 games, Auston Matthews has won consecutive Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophies as the NHL's leading goal scorer, with All-Star Game appearances in every season played thus far (the 2021 All-Star Game was cancelled due to Covid). This stick was used in practice by the superstar during the 2019-20 season. A CCM Ribcore Trigger model produced for Carl Dahlstrom who was with the Winnipeg Jets in 2019-20, according to the Leafs, the team's equipment managers traded sticks with others clubs as Matthews wanted to try other player's models. These were only used in practices. Featuring Matthews' white tape over the blade and white cloth with reinforcing strand over the handle, "Dahlstrom" is gone over but visible, with the stick showing light use, with a number of puck marks covering the front side blade - evidence of practice use. An LOA from the Leafs will accompany, and it denotes use during the regular season which is incorrect.
