Earning his first of two Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophies for his league-leading 51 goals in 2009-10, Sidney Crosby would also finish the season with his second-highest career points total, and would receive the Mark Messier Leadership Award. These photo-matched alternate uniform gloves were worn by Sid the Kid during the 2009-10 NHL season while a current Stanley Cup champion, and we should note that according to the accompanying Frameworth LOA, they were worn specifically during the first period of games the club wore their alternate uniforms, from Oct 17, 2009 to Feb 1, 2010. Furthermore, they were worn for a total of 10 games, while Crosby scored his 150th career goal, and 403rd, 418th and 431st points. Reebok models in solid navy blue with “Penguins” and “87” embroidered in white, “1” is handwritten within each palm, with Frameworth holograms added to each. The pair sport light to moderate game-use, with pilling to each palm with the right palm darkened, with a few small cuts to the material over each glove. There is also a tear to the material on the right thumb. Getty Image #94134439 (Nov 27, 2009) has been matched to the handwritten “1” within the palm of the left glove, with the threading bump directly to the left visible. Additionally, Getty Image #92229129 (Oct 17, 2009) has been matched to the handwritten “1” within the palm of the left glove.
