Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022

Perhaps the greatest Maple Leaf of the era he played in, Francis “King” Clancy played six of his 16 National Hockey League seasons in the blue and white of the Toronto Maple Leafs, standing on top of the hockey world in 1931-32 when the Leafs hoisted the Stanley Cup at seasons end. The rugged and tough defenseman would enjoy a healthy career in hockey even after his playing days were behind him, and was a large part of the Maple Leafs organization right up until his death in 1986. Presented here is an unsigned, framed photo of the Maple Leafs legend that most likely once proudly hung on the walls of Maple Leaf Gardens. The piece, which measures out to an overall size of (26” x 30”) features the hockey legend in his elder years smiling from ear to ear, something that probably comes fairly easy when you have the pedigree that “The King” had. Housed in a sleek silver metal frame, the photograph, measuring out to a total size of 19 ½” x 23 ½” presents well with no flaws apparent. A unique piece that is sure to toughen up all aspects of your Maple Leafs collection.
