Appearing for 6 different NHL clubs during his career, Todd Bertuzzi also represented Canada at the World Championships and Olympic Games, with NHL All-Star Game appearances made in both 2003 and 2004. From his last of eight seasons with Vancouver before moving on to Florida, we have a photo-matched Canucks alternate captain’s jersey worn in 2005-06, specifically during the second periods according to both the accompanying LOA and MeiGray population report. A label with “58” sizing is affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests over the bottom hem and reverse necklines respectively. Styled with an attractive tackle twill team crest with embroidered detailing, “44” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered twill, with matching vintage style crests over each shoulder. Exhibiting just light wear, there are a few marks and burns over each sleeve, with a small resulting hole over the right elbow. Getty Image #57217211 (March 27, 2006 vs LA) has been matched to the large burn mark on the lower left sleeve, with the shape and placement identical, with the image also matched to the clump of threading at the bottom right corner of the first "4" of "44" on the left sleeve and to the extended white thread at the base of the alternate's A. Additionally, Getty Image #71112393 (April 15, 2006 vs Colorado) has been matched to clump of threading at the bottom right corner of the first "4" of "44" on the left sleeve and to the extended white thread at the base of the alternate's A. “Bertuzzi 44” and “Set 3” are handwritten to the fight strap, with a MeiGray patch numbered “C10382” affixed to the inside hem. A MeiGray/Canucks LOA will accompany, and according to their population report, the jersey is a “Navy Set 3 w/A – 1st Period” specimen.
