Some encapsulated pre-war rookie card action highlights this offering, with Canada’s ACA responsible for the recent inspection and assessment of, notably, four classic 1933-34 World Wide Gum “Ice Kings,” all of them carrying the “RC” designation. Four different teams and grades are represented, with the Canadiens’ Marty Burke’s rookie earning a mark of 5.5 EX+ and followed condition-wise by #32-Art Chapman of the Bruins at 4.5 VGEX+. The Maroons’ 43-Cy Wentworth comes in at 3.5 VG+, while 70-Desse Roche of Ottawa is at 3 VG. All Ice Kings feature English-only write-ups, while a bit of bilingual info is on the back of a ’36-37 O-Pee-Chee Series D die-cut card of Montreal Maroon forward Earl Robinson, graded 3 VG. The fashion in which the five cards fit precisely in the allocated space of the sturdy ACA holders is notable, with no scratches spotted in the holders. Also contributing is a ’53-54 Parkhurst Eric Nesterenko RC at 2.5 GOOD+, with a couple of lower grade (raw) ’52-53 Parkie throw-ins being 19-Ed Slowinski (G) and 63-Glen Skov (F). All in all, an interesting group to consider.
