One of the game’s most underrated players, scoring 1,000+ career points while enjoying action in over 1,300 regular-season games through parts of 22 seasons, Ray Whitney dressed for eight different NHL clubs and won a Stanley Cup championship with Carolina in 2006. From his career-high 32-goal season of 1997-98 (Whitney would also score 32 goals in 2006-07), we have a signed Florida Panthers jersey worn by the Fort Saskatchewan native. Starter and Center Ice labels grace the collar along with a “58-R” size swatch, with embroidered Starter and NHL crests over the reverse hem. Styled with a large multi-coloured Panthers team crest, “14” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with the Panthers 5th season patch sewn to the right breast. The jersey also has custom-shortened sleeves, with Whitney signing the reverse “4” in black marker. Sporting heavy game-use throughout with a number of puck and stick marks littering the front, reverse and sleeves, there is also considerable pilling in numerous areas along with burns marks and a small hole to the left elbow.
