Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
A league that carried some incredible teams and talent right up until its final season in 1988-89, including Brad Park, Ken Dryden, Eric Lindros, Curtis Joseph, and Dale Hawerchuk, but none will ever reach the height that Wayne Gretzky had when it came to the game of hockey. Hailing from the 1976-77 season, we have a puck plaque from the Ontario Metro Junior “B” Hockey League displaying the official game pucks of all the teams in the league that season. Coincidentally, this is also the year that Gretzky led the Seneca Nationals to the league championship. A beautiful wood display with hand painted “Metro Jr. B” wording, the display features the game pucks of all 13 teams, as well as one for Peterborough who did not play that season. All the pucks are held in place via a single screw on the back. The pucks themselves display very well with only a couple displaying any wear at all. The board itself remains in near perfect condition with only a couple of light nicks. An incredible piece ready to become the conversation starter of your collection. Hailing from the collection of Shawn Chaulk, and originally acquired through collector Kevin McGuffin who in turn was gifted this and the other Seneca Nationals items offered in this auction by Toronto Nationals employee Gary Folkes (with the Nationals for a number of years, Folkes held positions with the club such as manager, assistant coach, and statistician), an LOA from Shawn Chaulk will accompany.
