Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
Hit by more pitches in 1971 than any other player since 1900, Ron Hunt spent 12 seasons in Major League Baseball from 1963 to 1974, dressing for the New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, Montreal Expos and the St. Louis Cardinals. This Montreal Expos jersey was worn by the St Louis native during his third season in Quebec, in 1973. Tattered Wilson labeling with “44” sizing is affixed to the collar, with an embroidered “73 Set 2” year/set swatch over the front tail. Sporting a tackle twill team crest sewn to the left breast with “Expos” appliqued, “33” in matching material appears over the reverse and right breast. Exhibiting some fading and discolouration to the material in areas, the reverse numbers show sections at the base where the threading has given way.
