Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022

Not receiving as much love as some of their counterparts from the same decade due to a lack of big name rookie cards but definite prerequisites to an O-Pee-Chee run and featuring big names from the era are the two groups up for grabs here. A 1975-76 ensemble is dominated by crease-free cards in the EX to EX-MT range, with better (NM vicinity) and lesser lights also involved. Bobby Orr’s card (#100) is a condition exception with a small light crease and corner dings sending it to VG+, while Harold Snepsts’ RC is also notable and EX+. A duplicate Snepsts (VG+) is most noteworthy in a small stack of (50+) extras. All checklists and team checklists are unmarked, and that’s the case with a ’77-78 gathering, its elements a little superior (plenty of EX-MTs and NMs), but with stars Trottier, Dryden and Lafleur not present and a curvature in the cards to be aware of. A complete 22-card set of glossy inserts complements, with six of 19 duplicate (cards) being unmarked checklists (#249 (4), #381 (2)). There’s also some wrapper action; four of seven from ’77-78 are still partially folded, with a tear in one of the others, while a single ’75-76 10-cent wrapper has a small edge tear. Some fun to be had here.
