Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022

John Tavares was so good in junior, the OHL labelled him as an “exceptional player”, allowing the Oshawa Generals to draft the young star at only 14 years of age in 2005. The move paid off. Tavares was OHL Rookie of the Year in 2006 and CHL Player of the Year in 2007. John Tavares is one of the few who can lay claim to breaking a Wayne Gretzky record. In 2006-07, he surpassed The Great One`s record for goals in an OHL season, notching 72. This Oshawa Generals jersey has been signed by Tavares, with desirable “72 Goals” inscription. Produced by Reebok with “XL” sizing along with a tackle twill team crest and numbers, the jersey also sports the Generals’ “70” anniversary patches over each shoulder. Tavares has signed the reverse “9” in silver paint pen, placing the “72 Goals” inscription above, with the limited-edition number of “63/91” handwritten. A hologram has been affixed, with a COA to accompany.
