The saying “calm before the storm” is often described as a period of peace, tranquility, or stability that seems to precede difficult times. That is perfectly captured in this photo of the Detroit Red Wings dressing room before the 2014 NHL Winter Classic at the Big House in Ann Arbour, Michigan, which took place on New Year’s Day 2014, when the Red Wings took on longtime Original Six rival, the Toronto Maple Leafs. That calmness would turn to pure electricity, as a crowd of over 105,000 witnessed the hometown Red Wings bested by the Maple Leafs in a shootout, with the score ending 3-2. This beautiful photograph of that calmness in the Red Wings dressing room has been signed by approx 22. At 20” x 30”, the silver paint pen signatures have all been placed within the “floor” section, including Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Kronwall, Franzen, Gustavsson, Andersson, Miller, Lashoff, Jurco, Dekeyser, Smith, Tatar and others. Attractively double-matted in Red Wings colours and framed to 29” x 39”, a plaque has been placed at the base, with a JSA sticker numbered “Y57388” affixed within the bottom right-hand corner.
